Blackhawk Waterways - includes (in addition to other facilities)):
 Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife & Fish Refuge - 7071 Riverview Road, Thomson, IL  815/273-2732.  
    Call for hours and days of operation, as well as admission info.  Boating, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
 Thomson Causeway Recreation Area - Lewis Lane, Thomson, IL  815/259-3628.  U.S. Army Corps of 
    Engineers recreation site.  Open 4/13/01 to 10/28/01, call for hours of operation and admission info.  Hiking, 
    picnicking, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
 Mississippi Palisades - 16327A IL Rte. 84, Savanna, IL 61074,  815/273-2731.  Call for hours and admission 
    information.  Groups of 25 or more must make reservations.  One adult minimum for each 15 minors.  Hiking, 
    picnicking, boating, fishing, and more.  Indian Head and Twin Sisters Rock formations.
Carroll County Historical Society - Owen P. Miles Museum, 107 W. Broadway, Mount Carroll, IL  61053, 815/244-3474.  Call for hours of operation and admissions info.  Carroll County history and life in the 19th century.
Thomson Depot Museum - Main Street, Thomson, IL  815/259-7378.  Memorial Day to October Friday through Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Railroad depot museum.
Timber Lake Playhouse - 8215 Black Oak Rd, Mount Carroll, IL  61053, 815/244-2035.  Call for current schedule and admission info.  Summer theater, including children's theater performances.
