Wheels of Time Museum - 11923 North

exhibits covering historic technology from spinning wheel to internal
combustion engine, as well as a miniature circus. Call for

W. H. Sommer
Park - 6329 N. Koerner Road, Edwards, IL 61528,
309-691-8423. Located on Koerner Road just south of Route 150
half a mile past The Shoppes at Grande Prairie, Sommer Park is
Peoria's link to its pioneer era history and natural heritage.
Experience Pioneer Days on the last Sunday of every month through
October from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Activities may include, but are
not limited to: rail splitting, hand dipping candles, blacksmithing,
school lessons, woodworking, heirloom vegetable gardening, hands-on
children's activities, storytelling. Admission is $2.00 per person.
Includes hayrack rides! Coming this summer: Heirloom Vegetable
Stand and Sundries, handmade beeswax candles, hand forged iron
hooks, punched tin lanterns, pioneer toys and more!
A reservation-only policy insures privacy and plenty of space

Wildlife Prairie State Park

Members and children under 3 free; children ages 4-12 $3.00; over
age 12 $5. Wednesdays only $15 per carload (does not apply
to group rate or special events). Native wildlife zoological
park. Opportunities include animal and botanical exhibits,
as well as many educational programs.
Working Sundial
at Pekin - Mineral Springs Park Sunken Garden on Court Street,
Pekin, IL. A good opportunity to learn some things about
solar mechanics.
